Great video!! I found a bottle of PURE vanilla Extract at Aldi for $1.99....best price ever, but you can make your own cheap too...it takes 3 months, but it is better than store bought.

Everything looks so tasty! I love it when you post videos. :) As far as the ants go, I feel your pain! It doesnt matter what I do, they always come back! I read somewhere that putting cornmeal out will do the trick. Apparently they eat it but cant digest it. I finally gave up on all the remedies I found online and hired a guy to come out. I didn't want to, but I was just SO tired of them!

LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!! I was so excited when I saw a new video:) I grab a cup of coffee and feel like I am in the kitchen with you. As for the ants, UGH!! I am right there with you~~~Annoying little buggers aren't they. We have been using Terro poison and they eat it and go back to there nest and the colony dies, but then a new line of ants somewhere else appears. I heard that grits work, they eat them and then explode, that sounds terrible, but I heard it works.

Can't wait for tomorrows video:)

XO
Julieann

P.S. Your white bread looked fantastic~~~~so fluffy, looking forward to the recipe on those:)

DeNiece,
You're so fun to watch! You should send in a video to Food Network to try out for the Next Food Network Star because people seem to really enjoy watching you. I think it's because you make them feel like an old friend. Keep making videos please. As for the ants, if Tarro doesn't work then I would call someone out to get rid of them. I think the big difference besides the products they use is that they spray around the outside of your house which keeps them from getting in. Blessings, Kelly

Great video!
Do you have a Costco? I get my pure vanilla from Costco. It's only $6 for 16 fl. oz. I'd love to make some...maybe Bren can post that! (Hi Bren! It's dayzinanddayzout. Fancy meeting you here!)
As for the ants...
Find their place of entry and put a very thick line of cayenne pepper. You can even put some Elmers glue around a hole and sprinkle it thickly on that! If you can find the indoor spot, great. If you can find the outside spot...even better! Try that before you pay for an exterminator. My sister had great big fat black ants and they had something they did outside. I'll call her and find out what that was. It killed the queen.

Not to step on Bren's toes, but I have made vanilla extract too. It's really just vanilla bean and vodka. You just choose a high quality vodka that's at least 80 proof. Here is a link with a recipe and step by step picture instructions. Bren please post your recipe too. :-) Kelly

Your videos are always so great and inspirational. I can watch them over and over. It seems like everyone has ants now. We just keep stepping on them. I once put out some honey in a bowl and in the morning the ants were all dead~they had drowned in the honey! These are just little experiments I do if I don't want to use to heavy duty ant sprays. God bless, Rose

Really enjoy your blog and the videos :0)
I use the Avon skin so soft spray to keep the ants away. They hate it. I just lightly spray it on where I have seen them and they have not come back.
