What's In Your Medicine Cabinet

This is not a picture of my cabinet I got it from the internet from Webmd and through that it fit my topic, hope they don't mind lol..

Well ladies last night, I decided to clean out my medicine cabinet.. I found some things that was out of date so I throw them out and check the first aid kit and everything else, so this morning I got up and went to Wally World (Walmart laugh.gif ) and brought some new things to prepare my family for the winter time sickies, like one of my favorite blogging friends Aunt Ruthie said in one of her blog post you don't want to be caught in a snow storm or in the middle of the night without medicine for the family...We all know that sometimes a sickie (that's what we called them here in the Barnes household laugh.gif ) can sometimes snneek up on us...You or the your family can be feeling find one minute sick the next.....Now is the perfect time to check your cabinets and get ready...

What should I keep in my medicine cabinet?
Always make sure you have an adequate supply of any prescription medication you need to take.

A basic medicine cabinet should also contain the items listed below. These are available from any pharmacy without a prescription and will help you and your family to deal with minor illnesses.

* Tablets (for adults) For headaches, fevers, colds, sore throats, aches and pains
* Tablets or Liquid For pain and fever in children
* Ibuprofen (tablets or syrup) For pain and fever in adults and children
* Antihistamine (tablets or syrup) For allergies, bites and itchy rashes
* Oral re hydration sachets To replace lost water and salts from diarrhea
* Cream or spray for insect bites or stings
* Steam inhalations (or vapor rubs) For relief of cold symptoms and stuffy noses
* Decongestant tablets or spray For cold symptoms in adults
* Cough syrup For dry coughs
* Antacid For indigestion/upset stomach
* Thermometer
* Measuring spoon or oral syringe

You should regularly check the expiration date of medicines in your cabinet and take any medicine which is out of date back to your pharmacy.

You should also keep a basic First Aid kit.

Great post DeNiece! I just posted a couple of home remedies that I will be using for the cold season. I also need to clean out my medicine cabinet and get some additional things for the upcoming season. I think I will work on that today, thanks for the reminder! Have a blessed day!

No medicine cabinet here in this house but 4 white plastic drawers on a linen closet shelf donated to first aid and winter colds. I picked up some Therflu recently.
We keep our tablets, those you mentioned in a drawer in our master bath. No babies to worry about anymore. I am a strong believer in vitamins. I take 500mg of it in the summer months. Come Fall, I increase it to 1000. I also take a senior silver multi vitamin. I try to keep Honey Bear supplied with C&E. Recently, we've begun to take vitamin D-3 for immune health. Its good for the bones, too. I read that Doctors are finding a deficiency of vitamin D in children.
This was a timely post.

I was always told to not keep medicine in the bathroom so we keep it in a cabinet in the kitchen.

I keep contact solution, eye drops, ear drops, eye and face cream and some freebie samples along with tweezers in the medicine cabinet.

This reminds me I need to give it a good scrub.
