Hello and happy Monday Morning dear friends in blog land. Over at Courtney's Blog Women Living Well we are into week two of Making Our Home a Haven. This week challenge is: Play soft music everyday in your home. Choose worship, classical or another form of peaceful music that the family enjoys. Focus on using peaceful words and maintaining peaceful relationships. Remind your family to avoid seething anger, tattling, criticism or back talk. Role model gentleness this week.
This is an easy challenge for me because my family and I love music so we play it all the time....We love all christian worship music and we especially love Bryon Cage and music by the group Selah... But this week I will be switching up and we will be listen to the CD from the soundtrack of Little Women which I love. I ordered about two weeks ago from Amazon and if you would like a copy click on the words Little Women and it will take you to the Amazon website. I heard this CD for the first time from one of the blogs that I read daily called Sugarpie Farmhouse which is hosted by Aunt Ruthie. Here is a sample that I found on Youtube....
Now you see why I brought the CD it is so relaxing and my main goal this week is to let the music relax my family and show each of us the gentleness that we need to contince to have for one another. I think this week we will be focusing on speaking softer and more gentle to one another when we found ourselves angry or upset. I feel as if we can be kind and gentle with people we don't know and say kind words to them then we need to do the same at home because we as parents are our children role models and it starts from home. So I will be continuing to burn my candle everyday and saying prayers over my family every time I walk pass the candle and along that I will be playing this CD to relax them as I speak softly to them. I will really be making sure that their will continue to be peace in our haven.
My man usually puts on something accoustic with guitar and I really love strong female vocalists. Nothing soothes the soul like a warm house filled with relaxing music.
It's a blessing to join the challege of making our homes a haven with so many other lovely ladies. Isn't it a beautiful thing to have a scented autumn candle burning and soft music playing in the backdrop of the home? These are things we normally do, but with this challenge it's been a great opportunity to be intentional in praying for it.
Blessings to you as you continue creating a haven for your family ~
On a side note, I love the name of your blog. It's like you've combined all the great things in life: organization, being at home, and Jesus. Love it!!!
Thanks so much for this great idea. The candles have really been a blessing. I have truly begun to appreciate my role as a homemaker after 22 years of parenting and wifely duties. These titles are now very important to me to both serve and enjoy. Again thanks for your great look out for all of us at home loving our families.
Hello and welcome to Organized Homemaking for Christ...... So just sit yourself down and have a cup of tea and some cookies and lets talk about the goodness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ., lets talk about the goodness of God and how he has brought us this far and how we as believers in Christ will continue to follow his words pertaining to being homemakers, helpmeets to our husbands, and mothers to our children.
I am first a daughter of the most high God and then I am the helpmeet to my wonderful husband Cedric then I am the mother to five wonderful children, I am a keeper of my home and that is were I love to cook, were I love to clean, and just enjoy everything that the Lord has placed before me and in my care.
