Workking on the Barnes Homestead

Well it is Saturday here on the Barnes family homestead. There is a whole lot of cleaning go on.. We have really been working in our home. The garden is really looking promising this year. We will have lettuce, tomatoes, spinach and many other things this summer.

The girls and I have really been working on our crocheting. We have been sitting on the porch enjoying the cool spring afternoon and just crocheting and talking away about there futures and how they will someday take care of their own husbands and children. They love watching me crochet, they say that my hands go so fast looping and binding yarn, of all different colors. Right now I am currently crocheting and making a throw rug for my living room door. The sun is really beautiful setting on the porch in the afternoon, it is the most beautiful time of the year around this time because it is not to hot outside and its not to cold outside. The mosquito's is out but not really that bad as of yet.

I am sitting here before I get started on this lovely day with the children, drinking a lovely cup of coffee. It has a wonderful flavor and I am really enjoying just sitting here blogging around and drinking my also gourmet coffee....um um good.......

After I finish blogging I and my daughters will be in the kitchen cooking some wonderful pies for Mother's Day tomorrow, we will be baking apple pies for my mother and my mother-in-law. We will also be baking bread and some muffins to freeze for some of our morning breakfast along with some fresh melons to make an easy breakfast when the summer months come up so that our kitchen can stay nice and cool. On today our lunch will be outside since the weather is so nice we will be having chicken salad sandwich and ice cool lemonade, along with some rice kispies treats. Yes every now in then I let them have a sweet treat.

The children and I will be hanging out a fresh load of laundry on the line so that we can watch the wind blowing and the sheets and clothes blowing in the wind. Oh I love the sweet smell of laundry when it comes off of the line and it has to be folded and put away.

We will be cleaning and cooking all day...... The closets will get reorganized as well as the pantry cupboard in the kitchen.

And when the sun is setting and the lighting bugs come out to dance... and all the children have ate dinner with ma and pa Barnes (LOL That's me and Cedric) and the sewing and the crocheting has been put away then we set together as a family and we read the children a bedtime story, and some scriptures from the bible. then its off to bed we go...... Ready to start another day.

You are such an inspiration to me. Our family is going through alot of hardship now, with the economy and all. Your words are so uplifting to me. You can really tell that you love being a wife and mother. Your love and dependecy upon the Lord shows through more than anyone else I know. Thanks for sharing a peek into your life.

Homemaking for Christ

Hello and welcome to Organized Homemaking for Christ...... So just sit yourself down and have a cup of tea and some cookies and lets talk about the goodness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ., lets talk about the goodness of God and how he has brought us this far and how we as believers in Christ will continue to follow his words pertaining to being homemakers, helpmeets to our husbands, and mothers to our children.
