Pictures for Saturday's Cookout

Here is some pictures from Saturdays cookout.....I will see you guys later today to post Sunday's dinner after church this morning to post the last day in my kitchen for my week in the kitchen series..... If you have not had a chance to visit Candy at her blog please stop by and see her at her blog it is a wonderful blog and will really inspire you to get up and get moving in the kitchen....

This was the homemade buttermilk biscuits that I made on Friday night for Saturday's biscuits for breakfast.....and as we say here in the country pile that biscuit high with fresh link patted sausage and hoop cheese ( cheese made fresh). With a hot cup of delicious coffee. Look at my web blog in the background its so cute :)..... For lunch we just had apple slices and cheese crackers, we did not want to get to full before the Bar-Que begin

This is what the plate looked like right before we sat down to eat.....and of course whats a southern Bar-Que without iced cold sweet tea....An for all the viewers out there that knows my hubby is a type one diabetic we know that sweet tea is not good for him and we have had it everyday this week, but while the family drinks sweet tea he drinks unsweet tea and he loves it just the same, I am currently working on making kombucha tea that I long about from Candy because this tea is so much more healthier for the family...

Here is another plate of our plates.. ummm looks delious right, well everything was great...

This is what my baked beans looked like after I take them out of the boiling pot off of the stove and placed them in a baking dish to finish cooking in the oven....

Yum!
Thank you for sharing this week! I love seeing and reading about how other moms / homemakers / homeschoolers run their days.
Those baked beans look fabulous, by the way... and my hubby watched your hubby make hamburgers. He said on his next day off he was going to try them his way. We usually just make them into patties, sprinkle salt and pepper and then slap them on the grill. However, Cedric's recipe looks absolutely delicious.
I emailed Candy and was encouraging her to keep the videos on her blog for reference ~ maybe on the side bar. I know women would get inspiration from both of you if they remain available.
Thanks so much and God bless your week!

I have really enjoyed visiting with you in your kitchen this week!! Your family is truly blessed to have you!!

About the Sweet Tea: You all can have healthy tea that still tastes sweet!!! We use Stevia, which is an herb, to sweeten our drinks and it has no effect on the blood sugar!!! We get the powder packets from http://www.iherb.com if you wanted to look into it. :D

Your cookout looked DELICIOUS!!!

God Bless you!

Thanks so much for your videos, I love watching other homemakers and get new ideas.

Is that an insulin pump your dh is wearing? My 4 yo son has a pump and he likes to see when other people have one, too.

DeNiece,
Thank you for this wonderful video series...I am glad you have another day to do and I look forward to all your recipes!
I think it is important for kids to make a meal for themselves every once in a while. My daughter is going to be 12 in a couple of weeks. She was very traumatized when we adopted her and went hungry for the first 3 years of her life. She still suffers the effects emotionally. She ate what she could steal. When she came to us she stole everything from raw meat to the dogs food. Now she is much better, though she still "sneaks" food sometimes...like the bread story I told. A while back I felt led to have her be in charge of lunch. Until recently she even made her brothers lunch (he is 7) but he wants to do his own now. When my grandson is here Charlotte makes lunch for him too. It gives her "control" over her own survival. Sounds crazy I know but it has really helped. Even after 8 years with me and never missing even 1 meal, she still subconsciously does not fully trust that she will eat. I do usually make breakfast and always dinner. 2-3 days a week they get cold cereal (which they prefer...crazy, huh?) though it is not sugary cereal. You did hit the nail on the head...this is what we are training them for!!!
Be Blessed my friend!!!

Just wanted to stop on by from Candy's blog and am so impressed. You have a lovely home and family. You are truly blessed!

I really want to make some of those great sounding foods like the baked beans, hamburgers, and I think it was some kind of bbq chicken. I had a hard time hearing the items that were in the hamburger mix. I really wanted to try them soon!

Thanks for all your great posts and videos!
Renee
I don't go on my blog too much but if you reply here's my email.

*I tried to e-mail you this but it kept coming back* Sorry it is so long for a comment.
Hi DeNiece~ This is Joann from the blog fruitofherhands2009. I was just wanting to send you a thank you e-mail for your wonderful words and videos from last week. I have just been feeling like such a failure at being a wife and homemaker and your's and Candy's videos and blogs have just lifted my spirits and made me start rethinking the way I do things. I was at the point where I really didn't care what my home looked like. I rarely even got out of bed some days before noon. I had quit reading the Word of God on a daily basis and my life just seemed so out of control. I looked fine to other people but in my heart I knew that what I was doing was not right. So far this week (Mon and today) I have started to do things different in my home. I am getting up with my husband and when I send him off to work, instead of going back to bed I have been staying up. Both days I have had all of my morning and cleaning chores done before 8AM and that has just made my heart and soul rejoice. So I wanted to send this to you and let you know that you played a big part in my change, of course we know that the Lord played a big part too. I am now taking a real look at my home through the eyes of a homekeeper and seeing that it is my place to make a home that is cozy, comfy and inviting to not only company but more importantly to my husband. A place where he can think of as clean and orderly and relaxing. I really like Candy's blog but for me you seem to be a little more like someone I could relate to, nothning against Candy I just seemed to like your take on things a little better. I look forward to reading and seeing more wonderful things on your blog in the future.
Blessings,Joann

Thanks so much for sharing your videos! It's so cool to actually see and hear you guys! You have one of my favorite blogs and this video series is just amazing! My life has been similar to Joann from Fruit of her hands, and beginning the blogging journey and meeting great moms like you has given me encouragement to do things the right way (God's way). Keep up the good work and be blessed!
